Visa Instruction Sheet

Business:
mail Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s).
mail Visa Application Form: Two visa application forms per applicant properly completed and signed. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.
mail Photo Requirements: One recent 2 x 2 passport type photograph(s), in color, front view and with a plain/light background.
mail Official Invitation: A letter of invitation is required for applicants within the following jurisdictions: Chicago, San Francisco and Houston. The letter of invitation must come from a sponsor (either host company or individual) explaining the relationship to the applicant, purpose of travel, length of stay, place of stay, and contact information.
Please note the following specifications for each jurisdiction.
Chicago: The letter of invitation must have the Chinese Municipal seal.
San Francisco and Houston: Letter of invitation must be original and must have the Chinese Municipal Seal.
mail Proof of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency, and/or copy of airline ticket. Applicants within Houston jurisdiction must provide a copy of airline ticket.
mail Hotel Confirmation: Please provide one copy of confirmed hotel and/or cruise reservation(s.) If staying in various hotels, please provide copies of each reservation. A letter from inviting family member or friend is required if they are providing accommodations to the applicant.
mail Applicants requesting a multiple entry visa to China must provide a letter stating the need for a multiple entry visa and the dates of future travel to the country.
mail Business Letter: Letter from employer or sponsoring company, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to China. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant, provide detailed contact information in host country, and specify the number of entries being requested.
mail Complete the Global Reservation Form: This is Travisa's Service Order Form. You must include a copy of this form with all other supporting documents. (NOTE: Consular fees are NON-refundable. If visa is rejected and resubmitted new consular fees will apply).
Fees  Fees - Consular Fees.
- Service Fee for regular processing is $50.00. Rush service fee of $99.00 will be assessed for any
attempts to process the visa in less than regular processing time.
Info Visa Validity: Single entry visas are to be used within 3 months of issue. Double entry visas can be issued for 3 or 6 months, but usually 3 months. Multiple entry visas are based on the invitation for either 6 or 12 months. Time allowed to stay in China is 30 days for most visas.

Tourist:

student:

mail Proof of Departure: Computer generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency, copy of airline ticket or a corporate letter stating travel plans. A signed letter on the travel agency's letterhead confirming round-trip booking may also be submitted.
mail Other Forms: An approved Foreign Student Application Form (JW101 or JW202) issued by the Chinese unit, and an enrollment letter from the Chinese school.

mail Other Forms: Visa Notification issued by an authorized Chinese unit (usually the Foreign Affairs Office of the local government.)
mail Other Requirements: Please submit either one of the following documents:
1) Original Work Permit for Aliens issued by the Chinese Ministry of Labor and Social Security and its copy.
2) Original Foreign Expert's Working Permit issued by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.

Info Visa Validity: Applicants traveling for "Teaching" purposes will be issued a work visa (Z Type) valid for three months from date of issuance and allowing one entry into the country. The holder of a (Z) visa shall go through residential formalities in the local public security department within thirty days of entry into China.
