Passport Requirements: Send us your original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay, and with at least one blank visa page available for visa stamp(s). The Amendment pages in the back of the passport can't be used for visa stamp.

Visa Application Form: One visa application form(s) per applicant properly completed and signed. Signature must be original on each application. Improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.

Photo Requirements: Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/light background.

Proof of residential address in the United States: One clear copy of applicant driver’s license, utility bill or phone bill. Address on the document must match address on the visa application form.

Special Instructions: Persons of Indian Origin applying for a visa for the FIRST time on any US passport must submit their Indian passport and a completed Renunciation Form. Persons of Indian Origin who have held an Indian visa in a previous US passport must submit the expired/cancelled US passport.

Complete the Global Reservation Form: This is Travisa's Service Order Form. You must include a copy of this form with all other supporting documents. (NOTE: Consular fees are NON-refundable. If visa is rejected and resubmitted new consular fees will apply).

Service Fee: - 24-Hours and same day processing are available for additional fees. Service fee for regular processing is $50.00. Rush service fee of $99.00 will be assessed for any attempts to process the visa in less than regular processing time.

Shipping Fees: The standard shipping method of completed documents is FedEx Overnight Service for which Travisa charges a fee of $22.95. Other shipping options are available when completing our Global Reservation Form.

Visa Validity: Visas are usually valid for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years based on consular fee paid. 10 year visas are issued to applicants of Indian origin/former Indian nationals. Important: Travelers must leave India on or before the expiration of their visa. Travelers who remain in India beyond the validity of their visa could face detention and significant penalties. If your intended length of stay in India exceeds the validity of your existing visa, you must apply for a new visa.

Business Letter: A letter from the sponsoring organization on company letterhead indicating nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay, state the validity of visa applied for (6 Month, 1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year), places and organizations to be visited and also a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses etc.

Sponsor Letter From Organization in India: A letter from the sponsoring organization in India on company letterhead indicating nature of applicant's business, probable duration of stay, state the validity of visa applied for (1 Year, 5 Year or 10 Year), places and organizations to be visited and also a guarantee to meet maintenance expenses etc. should accompany the application.

Other Forms: Applicants must submit a photocopy with proof of residence/address while applying for the visa. Photocopy of driver license or utility bill is acceptable. For minors, a parent or guardian proof of address may be submitted instead.

Other Forms:
(Letter confirming admission from an Educational Institution along with evidence of financial arrangements for stay in India. In case of admission in medical or paramedical courses in India, a letter of Approval or No objection certificate from the Ministry of Health, Government of India, is also required. Similarly, for admission to graduate or post-graduate courses in engineering/ technical institutions in India, a letter of approval or a No objection certificate from the Ministry of Human Resources Development (Department of Education) is required.

The validity of the visa may range from 6 months to 1 year depending on the length of the study program. Important: Travelers must leave India on or before the expiration of their visa. Travelers who remain in India beyond the validity of their visa could face detention and significant penalties. If your intended length of stay in India exceeds the validity of your existing visa, you must apply for a new visa.

Special Instructions: The Embassy of India does not issue a "Crew" type visa. A "Business" type visa will be issued to the applicant/crew member. Please follow the instructions listed under "Business" visa.

B. Applicants within Chicago Jurisdiction only: One completed and signed Letter of Authorization.

Official Invitation: Letters of invitation from the organizer of the conference in India as well as from the organization in the USA which nominated the applicant to attend the conference must be included.

Other Requirements: Please note that India is jurisdictional. Please check with your local Travisa office for any additional information that may be required.

Employment

Passport Requirements: Original, signed passport valid for 6 months from day of application, and with at least two blank visa pages. Amendment pages are not acceptable for visa stamps.

Appointment Letter: A letter provided by the applicants employer certifying that the applicant has been offered a position with the company and outlining the nature and duration of the position.

Contract: A copy of the complete employment contract. The contract must contain details of the salary agreement and the signature of both parties.

Resume: The applicant's current resume.

Organization Registration: Proof that the organization is registered in India, provided by the Indian employer.
